Cat Eye Sunglasses Trend

So Audrey Hepburn was definitely getting it right with her cat eye sunglasses back in 1961 (pictured below). I love how feminine and elegant they are, and everywhere appears to be selling them right now - Topshop, Asos etc. During a recent visit to an outlet village, I found the perfect pair of Prada tortoise shell cat eye sunglasses - they were £110 from £180.. so I had to have them! What I love about them is that they're not too much, they are rounded and a little more subtle than a lot of the other styles around at the moment - which in my opinion makes them a little more timeless. I find that they're not as wearable as my classic Rayban Aviators, for example I wouldn't wear them with trainers, jeans and a t-shirt, but rather a slightly more elegant and dressy outfit. However, they make the perfect finishing touch to a really simple, classy outfit such as a skater dress and ballet pumps. I'm sure i'll be wearing them a lot on holiday in Croatia and Monaco - i'll post plenty of photos!

Olivia Palermo, as usual, providing me with some inspiration

The lighting here makes them look a little red - which they're not!

Matthew Williamson

I have no idea how i've only just discovered Matthew Williamson, but i'm already obsessed! After visiting one of his stores, I fell in love with his use of prints, vibrant colours and bohemian-chic style. I was hardly surprised to discover that Sienna Miller is a huge fan of his work, as well as a close friend of his.

Sooo I couldn't resist buying a bikini from his Escape collection....how beautiful is it?!

Fudge Urban Hair Chalk

I fancied trying something a bit different with my hair for Hideout festival this summer, so went and bought some of this hair chalk from Superdrug (had to try a few stores before I found any - turns out its popular!) The chalk is available at £5.99 in a variety of colours including pink, purple, white, red and blue. I'm aware that there is a more expensive option than the Fudge chalk, which is the Kevin Murphy Colour Bug available for £14 on the official website. I have read good reviews for this product and definitely intend on trying it, but as a typical student I am unfortunately on a budget!

Anyway, I decided to give pink a go! For Hideout festival I applied it to the ends of my hair for an ombré effect and for Latitude festival this weekend I just did a couple of streaks which was also effective (shown in second photo). Don't forget to apply hairspray after applying the chalk in order to hold the colour! I also found that applying a little hairspray to the desired area before application made the process easier! My hair is quite a light shade of blonde, so the colour showed up well. However, I wouldn't be discouraged if your hair is darker, as this colour showed up really well in my friend's black hair! Mixing the white chalk with each of the colours can also give you a more pastel effect. The chalk then washes out really easily with shampoo! I would definitely recommend this stuff, great for festivals! I will definitely be trying the other colours in the future!

Dolce and Gabbana's Capri Couture - Alta Moda Show

This show encapsulated everything that I love about Italy, and it is lovely to see Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce celebrating their home country and culture. I loved to see the use of such vibrant colours such as the rich blue and yellow. The designs and colours were inspired by citrus fruits and the traditional pottery 'Maiolica' dating from the Renaissance. After a recent trip to a Dolce and Gabbana outlet store, I came across some of the beautifully-embellished collection and quite frankly fell in love!

Personal favourites

I apologise for the quality of my photos, they were taken quickly on my iphone and the lighting wasn't great! I absolutely loved the bag and shoes shown on my last photo - they would look amazing paired with a white lace dress!
